The new book, Perfume, The Art and Craft of Fragrance, by Karen Gilbert has hit store shelves. It is 144 pages, and published by Cico Books.

“Perfume” will teach readers how to create their own signature scent. There are DIY recipes for scented skin care products, and a solid perfume.

The book also includes chapters about the psychology of smell, the history of perfumery, fragrance classification, as well as natural and synthetic fragrance materials.

Gilbert teaches perfumery courses in London and is a former fragrance evaluator at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF). She was also a formulator for Neal’s Yard Remedies.
